Developer Atlus admits that it will have a tough time selling Etrian Odyssey to anyone who isn't already a fan of dungeon crawls or other niche genres. As great as a turn-based, first-person RPG might sound to some of you, it's rare for that kind of game to register even a blip on the radar of most gamers or gaming media.Atlus has been updating Etrian Odyssey's official site with promotional webcomics, the first of which proposes how the title can attach itself to current trends and elbow its way to the front of the crowd. Likening the game's dungeon crawl experience to Brain Age is a huge stretch, but we have to applaud the creative approach. See what we mean after the post break!

I can't wait to get this game.I am so sick of all the action rpg's that keep coming out. The more turn based old school rpg's the better.

If it has that kind of humor it will have successfully piqued my interest.

reminds me to much of WoW... 9 classes, party has 5 members, gathering skills, a lot of the classes seem to parallel those in WoW as well. I'll have to take a closer look at it when it comes out.

I like the new push towards action RPG's but...I grew up with plain, basic turn based RPG's. I hope they don't go away completely. As FFIII and Dragon Quest 8 have shown they still have life in that type of system.

Ehh...My least favorite parts of RPGs is when I end up wandering around a dungeon looking for something and end up stuck in a bunch of fights. And you're telling me that's the whole goal of this game? I may have to pass on this one.

Blatant Monty Python reference on Page 2 (the 3rd page really) of that comic. Now, I have the song stuck in my head...
"He's a lumberjack and he's okay, he sleeps all night and he works all day."
