Japan's shortages finally starting to slow down?

By way of Japanese Senaka blog, we receive word that several Japanese retailers are stocking up on DS Lites, causing us to wonder if the almost impossible feat of finding one in the country is becoming a task much easier, akin to crafting a delicious sandwich or retrieving your mail from the post box outside your home. We'd like to think so, because the more people who own a DS (we suggest you go Lite), the better! And this isn't just one little shop, apparently, as Senaka blog reports on a few of the retail chains having more than a couple in stock (and some even on the shelves).

1. Obviously this means that people stopped buying the DS and are buying the PSP now. I mean, seriously.

2. @ 1 How did you know?:D Maybe they just reached the saturation point. Seems like everyone has one now.

3. Why does Japan get these exlusive colors? That Purple one looks hot.

I'd kill for a Dark green one like that...

4. @3 X_Arre

If you want them that badly, import:

They cost more ($200), but if that's what you want...

5. It's easy to see the effects of it. Look how many Lites sold in a week last time. I expect cool down now.

6. They're fairly easy to spot now. I went to a Toys R' Us in Kurashiki on Sunday and the place was teeming with lites.

@3 - That's not really a purple, but "Enamel Navy", a really dark blue color.
