So, we gotta ask: what's your favorite genre, if you had to choose? That's a tough one for us; honestly, tastes tend to change day to day and by what's in front of us. We love action and we love puzzles, and sometimes we prefer racing or RPGs. But if you had to pick -- even if you can only narrow it down to two -- what do you think would win out in a battle for your tastes?

I'm personally a huge fan of puzzle games and platformers for the DS. The games in those genre seem to be very solid (in general) for the DS.

I'm a huge fan of 2D fighters, "bullet hell" shooters, and tactical RPGs, all genres that have been sort of neglected on the DS so far. THERE'S STILL TIME TO FIX THIS!

I love FPS', and just regular shooting games. Gears of war, for example, is probably my favorite game right now. I also love adventure/platforming games like Legend of Zelda and Super Mario 64 DS.

I've narrowed it down to Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and Pokemon. Yeah I don't know ... Oh wait I'll claim them all as RPG.

I like 1-game sort of games. I mean, games that involve me for a couple minutes at a time. This makes me a fan of puzzle games, obviously; also of puzzle-like RPGs such as Puzzle Quest (a genre that, as far as I know, has one single game) and rhythm games -- but the music has to be my taste (think Guitar Hero, forget Elite Beat Agents).

I like Music/Rhythm games the most. DDR, beatmania, pop'n music, Daigasso Band Brothers, Ouendan...What's not to love?
I'm also a big fan of RPGs and the big Nintendo franchises.

Puzzles in general are my favourite titles.
Tetris, Luminess, Picross, etc alone can give me more then enough enjoyment in gaming.
Action/Adventure titles are a close second, and what ever the hell Tower Defense games are third.

Earlier RTS and FPS, c&c, wc2, wc3 and quake.
On the DS I like kirby and other games which features "puzzles", even if it isn't, such as yoshi touch&go, advanced wars ds, yoshis island, ..
But I still play quite a bit of wc3 and I will play sc2 like mad so I would have to say RTS, but I still see them a little as puzzle games, same kind of challange (but maybe all games are?)

I have to agree with Roy and say the classic point-and-click genre. It ties with the classic platformer genre. But where did both of them go?! My favorite genres are mostly dead (but that's not all dead, right?).

Puzzles, 2d shoot-em-ups, and adventure games. I used to be really good at 2d fighters, but there really aren't a lot of those any more, so I'm not as interested. I still fire up the ole Dreamcast just to get my Marvel vs. Capcom 2 fix...
