They've posted a list of ten great DS games that you can get for $15 or less. You may have to do some hunting for a sub-$15 copy of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, or any copy of Scurge: Hive, but handy Amazon and eBay links are provided to assist you. In our opinion, a system can only be really good once the AAA titles start hitting sub-budget prices, and that is exactly what is being illustrated by this article. Great games in diverse genres at a fraction of the ridiculous price of a new next-gen game.

I've actually beaten most of these games, so I'd rate the bang for your buck based on longevity, production values, and overall fun as such.
1st tier: Dawn of Sorrow, Meteos
2nd tier: Sonic Rush, Nanostray
3rd tier: Scurge: Hive, Bomberman
4th tier: Yoshi Touch and Go!, Metroid Prime Pinball
5th tier: Feel the Magic, Polarium

haha -- I knew somebody would give me grief about it not being "retro" :)
But at least a lot of the DS titles are "retro-friendly". Anyway, after my earlier "cheapest games" installments, I had some requests to do newer systems. I probably won't do anything newer until next year as all the big titles drop down a bit.
Thanks for the link though -- and keep up the great work!

Hey, thanks!
And nah, it wasn't real grief. At least they're old DS games, right?

I fail at DS-ing' I only own two of the games on the list: Sonic Rush and Meteos.
And in Sonic's case, I would take the "retrogaming" label as a compliment. The only good Sonic games are all retro titles.

Gah! The only way I could dislike the concept behind "Feel the Magic" any less is if it involved 2 females and a beverage receptacle.
(Full Disclosure: No, I haven't played it. No, I won't ever consider it.)

I'd probably describe the ones I have and have played thusly
Great games with a good deal of replay value:
Meteos
Metroid Prime Pinball
Great game, that once played through a few times will be set aside:
Feel the Magic
On my need to play pile:
Castlevania
Sonic
An okay game, but I preferred Zookeeper, which can probably be found for $10 or less itself:
Polarium
I just finished Nanostray and have tried a couple of challenges, but have yet to succeed at any of them. Definitely a solid game that scratches the shooter itch.
(Although it does fall into the category of game that encourages you to disregard the DS manual and actually touch the screen with your thumb.(other notable games being Jump Super Stars and Transformers.)

Gah, that Bleach fighting game makes me just use my thumb. It's not hard to memorize the moves, it's just way easier to touch them and perform them instantly. xD

Sonic Rush is a brilliant game that put every released Sonic game since S&K to shame. I totally recommend it.
The stages are just right in length, the cut scenes can be fast forwarded and the boss battles have a nice Treasure feeling to them.

Try Sonic Rush Adventure. The story segments aren't very interesting at all, but the level designs are well improved over the original Sonic Rush, and the new soundtrack has its own feel, while still being very very good.
