Popular television shows, for some reason, often seem to make it to gaming systems of all types. Not just game shows, either, but just as with games based on popular films, popular shows often get the gaming treatment as well. There are rumors of the Lost game heading to the Wii, and we recently ran across a press release for a DS game based on 1 vs. 100. It got us pondering things like that and Deal or No Deal, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? and more, and wondering ... who buys these? No, scratch that; we actually know several people who enjoy Dancing with the Stars on the Wii. The real question is: do you buy them? Have you ever? You can tell us. We won't judge you.

It's been a very long time since I actually bought one myself. My uncle got me Deal or No Deal for Christmas though. That one was sold back to Wal-Mart ASAP.

Answers to those questions are no and no. Hope that helps. As usual, reason for not buying those is because those games tend to be half assed in every way possible.

I know I've played Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune in some incarnation on 8-bit systems and on a 386, however I don't think I've ever payed for them.

I have not purchased any Wii/DS gameshow-based game but I would buy a Wii "Family Feud" game that used the DS for the Emcee's controls. Top screen shows the question; the bottom screen shows the answers. When someone correctly names an answer, the MC simply taps the answer on the bottom screen and it reveals on the Wii controlled television.

Ugh. So I gave my family like 8 games for their new DSes this Christmas. My mom gave my sister one more: Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader. Can you guess which game has been the most popular?
Hint: It's not Puzzle Quest or Pheonix Wright (though they are close in second for my sister and mom respectively)

Wheel of Fortune for the NES. Aside from 'archaeologist' being the second puzzle's answer nearly every time, it was fun.

Eons ago I enjoyed Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy on my PC, back when I was thrilled to have 4 colors. In fact, I played one or both also on my C-64 I believe. The last time I bought and TRIED to play a TV game was when I bought Wheel of Fortune for my old b&w Game Boy. What a torture session that was!!!!

I never buy games that are based on game shows, because thats just retarded overall. But I have bought one game for my Wii that was licensed, Billy and Mandy. And it was actually fun, it was like Smash Bros Melee but with missions and different characters and you could see the entire level in a perspective instead of the 2.5D perspective.
