More Final Fantasy III scans delight

A quick hop over to RPGamer will show you a plethora of screenshots on the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy III, taken from a Japanese magazine. The scans, which contain the requisite number of moogle and chocobo, showcase some of the game's tasty concept art for the classes of characters such as Red and Black Mage, along with what we can assume is information on the game, locked away behind doors that we are unable to penetrate due to our lack of ability to translate Japanese characters. Any bilingual readers want to take a crack at translating the article?

The scans also show some in-battle imagery throughout a variety of environments along with some samples of what exploration on the world map will look like. We're foaming at the mouth to see this at E3, so keep your eyes on DS Fanboy for more information as it develops.

1. I WANT this game!

2. I am just blown away by the texture work that Squeenix has pulled off on this title. I love my DS but I never consider it a graphical powerhouse. These screens look fantastic though. Much better than the N64 standard. I can't wait to see more of this game, and I'm not even a Final Fantasy fan.

3. Ahhh... I can't wait.

4. Definitely allot nicer looking than I expected. I can't wait to see what the finished product does especially in regard to what DS functions it's going to take advantage of.

5. What is with the art style square enix is taking on all of the nintendo final fantasys. they all look like childrens cartoon characters. I like the more realistic porportions of previous FF games.

6. I'm getting super-excited about this game... I just keeps looking better and better each time more shots are revealed.

7. [shameless_self-promotion]

I posted some comparison shots on my site the other day. They show the original version and the DS version side by side. Pretty cool IMO.

9. @5: This //is// a remake of Final Fantasy III, so you can't expect porportioned graphics anyway :] Ever play FFIX? Hope you didn't complain about their style too. Or even the disporpotioned characters of VII.

Things that make you go, "hmmmmmm".

10. I'm also really looking forward to Children of Mana for DS. But look at that artwork for FFIII it almost reminds me of those tactics ogre games. I can't wait for this game, just need to get one of those damn DSLites now.

11. #5 (carson)

This art style is heavily influenced by the Enix side of things over at SquareEnix. Crytal Chronicles has a similar art style, and if you look back in the history of Enix games, they all have a similar style as both these games.

12. I can't wait to see the angry posts at release time:
