Phantom Hourglass scans

Some scans hit the net today for this game called The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. You've probably never heard of it. It looks like it's a game based around spinning a small boy dressed in green, who is armed with a sword, shield, and sleeping cap, while his twin brothers cheer on. The scans come from magazine Nintendo Dream and also showcase a rather large, rosey-cheeked character wielding a massive paintbrush. It looks as if you'll be able to control the small kid, whose name is unknown, through the stylus and touch screen. We're not too excited about the game since it's relatively obscure, but we felt obligated to post about it for the benefit of the three people out there looking forward to it.

1. Most excellent. For some strange reason, the art looks really retro to me. Not that that's a bad thing. Man, if this comes out at around the same time as Twilight Princess, my head may just explode from the awesomenes...

2. All the screenshots are from the video we saw at GDC. The only new things in that article is some official artwork. Oh, what I thought was funny is how on one of the pages, they give directions to navigate the NOA www.nintendo.com homepage to reach the Phantom Hourglass trailer! ^^

3. omg somebody translate this!

4. I can't be the ONLY person to notice the pic from Link to the Past in the article! Could this mean it'll be included, like the original Metroid in Zero Mission?

Also, the art with multiple Links definitely points towards some four swords action, hope it's WiFi, although I'd miss screaming at my friends.

5. hey, whoever wrote this thing didn't do an effective job of delivering his message.

I know he was trying to be sarcastic, but if I knew nothing about this game, I would have believed the article.

Anyways, thanks for the scans.

6. #3, there are pics from Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and the Wind Waker. I think they're just for reference, though I can't read Japanese very well.

#4, Everyone knows the Legend of Zelda. Even if they aren't familiar with this particular game, the words "never heard" are linked to the announcment of it.

I can't wait for this game. Mario, Zelda, FFIII... so many good games for the DS.

7. Yes, it's just references: what I understand about the "Link to the past" picture is the music theme: it's an important point for this game...that's all !

And, what we already know: the name of the "revolution project" will be present during the E3 and...this Zelda will be playable.

I'm gonna translate those scans on my blog today.

8. One cool stuff I just noticed:

You can use the touch screen to write what you want on the map, to rember code or where the trap is...

9. omg DS Fanboy!!!1! How could you THINK that this game is obscure?!?!?! Its a ZELDA game!!!! The guy in the green suit, his name is link! I can't believe you haven't heard of zelda before!!!

15. Ooh! ..)

Translation: Ooh, I speak French as well! Why don't you like the graphical style of Wind Waker? It's not normal, but it's interesting! And for PH, I love that already! (I used Babblefish to double-check my grammer, and to write the sentence you're reading. I've only taken 2 years of French, though...)
