Confirmed: Nintendo DS headset

Confirmed by the big N, this external microphone/earpiece (we'll just call it a headset) will be releasing to the Japanese gaming public come September 14th for roughly $10 American. Rumor has it that the headset is going to be utilized by the upcoming cash cow Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, which will allow for full voice chat. Personally, we'd like for it to release a bit earlier, say right around the time Starfox Command comes out. Now there's a game that could benefit from the use of a headset!

[Double Note: That is, in fact, NOT my father, despite popular belief. He just plays him on the internet.]

Wow! This sounds cool. I was hoping voice chat would get a bigger role in games. The question is, how many games will utilise it, and how effective will they be? Hmmm, I wonder if this set would be compatible with Wii....

You know, I've had this figured out since I bought my DS a year or so ago. If you just look at the headphone jack, there's a picture of a headset.

no way!, why can't we have a headset like the one in the picture?!

about time that thing comes out though, hopefully plenty of games will make use of it.

I think that around the time that pic was taken, my dad looked exactly like that, too bad that's not really your dad, or we could have been brothers...o well

I've already seen a headset for the DS... it was at my local best buy sitting next to the DS-Lites on launch day.

I believe a 3rd party has beat the big N, at least as far as earpieces go. Check it out: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-b8-49-en-70-1c2h.html
