Elite Beat Agents track list

Would we be correct in saying that everyone and their dog is as excited for Elite Beat Agents as we are? Something about those slick male cheerleaders makes us giggle. So, you can imagine how excited we were to see the track list for the game. Sure we had to muffle laughter over artists like Cher and Ashlee Simpson. The game did get a few more cool points for featuring David Bowie and Queen. Without further ado, we present to you the Elite Beat Agents track list:

  1. Walkie Talkie Man - Steriogram
  2. ABC - Jackson Five
  3. Sk8er Boi - Avril Lavigne
  4. I Was Born to Love You - Queen
  5. Rock This Town - Stray Cats
  6. Highway Star - Deep Purple
  7. Y.M.C.A. - Village People
  8. September - Earth, Wind and Fire
  9. Canned Heat - Jamiroquai
  10. Material Girl - Madonna
  11. La La - Ashlee Simpson
  12. You're the Inspiration - Chicago
  13. Survivor - Destiny's Child
  14. Without a Fight - Hoobastank
  15. Believe - Cher
  16. Let's Dance - David Bowie
  17. Jumpin Jack Flash - Rolling Stones
  18. Makes No Difference - Sum 41
  19. The Anthem - Good Charlotte

[Thanks Ben!]

1. Oh man... I'm not sure if i should laugh or cry about this list. :P

I'm thinking playing this game is something I'll be doing as furtively as ...lets not go there :P

Trashy pop will be my new guilty pleasure... :(

2. You're welcome, DS Fanboy news team!

I've said elsewhere, the tracklisting is pretty much as expected. Ouendan had a tracklisting catering to populist Japanese tastes, why shouldn't EBA? It's easier (and more profitable) to market to the public at large than a minority who'd love a tracklist consisting largely of Pink Floyd and Muse.

3. I would rather listen to Japanese that I cannot understand than listen to Ashley Simpson.

4. Blargh. I was going to preorder this game, but now I think I can wait for the price drop. I have too much gaming to do right now anyway (FFXII, FFIII, Guitar Hero 2, etc).

And that Ashlee level better be freaking EASY. I'm not sitting through that crap more than once in a row.

5. Eh, some of those song don't seem to fit, and I wonder why they don't have Eye of the Tiger.

6. I refuse to buy this game. Ashlee Simpson? NO FUCKING THANKS.

Posted at 1:48PM on Oct 17th 2006 by sinergy

7. @ Six: You realize there are songs in Ouendan that didn't fit the scenario? Linda's and noodlemaking?

Hey! Cher is awesome! But, ASHLEE WTF SIMPSON!?

8. Uhh, the only songs that are tolerable are Queen, and Deep Purple.

This REALLY sucks when you realize that without the sound, this game is pointless.

I HAVE A GOOD IDEA!!!!

Lets make a game, based around keeping the beat of the song, BUT!!!!, lets make the track list SOO intolerable nobody will buy it!!! BRILLIANT!!!!

9. I think the track listing is pretty cool; very diverse with something for everyone. Perfect for the Touch Generations label. The only track I really have gripes about is Ashlee Simpson (because I hate that skank). And Avril Lavigne isn't that bad, but couldn't they pick one of her better songs and not lousy skater boi says see ya later boi?

Anyway, I'm still looking forward to this game like mad and now I'll be buying it for some friends who like Madonna and Destiny's Child and will love the addictive gameplay. Anyone know if they're doing covers of these songs? I heard Ouendan used mostly cover artists.

Speaking of Ouendan, seeing as the game didn't fly in Japan because it had what they thought were overplayed J-pop crap, anyone think Elite Beat Agents will be an import smash hit in Japan? Do they go crazy over American pop?

10. I LOVE THE 80'S! . . . but hate Ashlee.

I think this would be a hit in Japan. ;D

12. I hope they dance to earth wind and fire like they did in the dutch west video (http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-7162130214192800435&q=september+dutch+TV)

13. Ugh. I'd say it's about a 40%/60% split between good/bad music. Queen, Bowie, Deep Purple, the Stones... so good. Madonna? Jackson Five? Destiny's Child? Not so good. Some of these tracks are really making me reconsider getting this game.

Posted at 5:01PM on Oct 18th 2006 by TE-Ryan

14. Oh, come on, like "Koi no Dance Site" (in the office lady level) by Morning Musume from Ouendan was a musical masterpiece? They're just following the precedent...

Posted at 5:56PM on Oct 18th 2006 by Oberstein

15. I agree with posts 9 and 14... I think it's hypocritical to say that this track listing stinks (even though I hate ashlee simpson as much as all of you guys do), cause that's what Japan thought of Ouendan, which is why we all imported it and loved it and it didn't do as hot over there... I can definitely see that happening with this game... us hating it, and Japan importing the crap out of it. Very amusing to think of.

17. Well, at least it's better than the Lumines II track list. IMHO.
