DS Daily: How many?

No, not how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll pop -- but if you want to share your results, go right ahead; we'll compare notes. We want to know how many games you've bought this year for your DS. Further, how many more do you plan to buy? Be realistic ... most of us want more than we can actually afford, but if you can afford them all, well ... good for you.

Can we borrow a couple?

1. 4, but three were from Toys R Us buy two get one free sale, and i bought one and my friend bought the other one. They are: Custom Robo Arena, Star Fox Command, Clubhouse Games, and Pokemon Pearl. The only other DS game i will be getting this year is N+, keeping the rest of my precious monies for Wii games.

2. I have not purchased one games this year nor will I. All hail the R4!

3. Now you've gotten me curious, how many licks DOES it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?

Posted at 9:43AM on Sep 18th 2007 by Kree

4. Between me and my girlfriend, probably 20-30 since last November when we bought our systems. Maybe another half-dozen between now and January.

5. So far this year: Picross DS, Puzzle Quest, Children of Mana, Kirby Squeak Squad, Diner Dash, DK Jungle Climber.

Planning on getting Phantom Hourglass and Mega Man ZX Advent coming up, I think that's about it..

7. man, i've bought 18 games for the DS this year but to be fair i've only just bought my DS this year too.. i had some catching up to do '___';

8. Same for me, I bought my DS in March. So I currently own 11 games and I know I sold back 3 of all those I bought, so it computes to 14 games bought. The last was Jam Sessions, which I got yesterday. I'm not sure I like it so much: it has crashed on my hands (yes, crashed, just like a bad PC program) twice in a single hour's play. Is it the curse of the left-handed (less testing that the right-handed configuration)?

9. Kree asked: ". Now you've gotten me curious, how many licks DOES it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?"

*slurp* ah one.

*slurp* ah two.

*slurp-CRUNCH!* ah three.

Three.

10. Oh, and I've purchased 6 DS games so far this year, the most recent being Drawn to Life.

I was drawn to sell it and get something else more interesting and fun. Got RE4 for Wii, scaring the hell outta me right now. Every light is on in the house, the brightness settings for the TV and in-game are at the brightest setting, and the volume is lowered. I'm such a puss.

Posted at 12:48PM on Sep 18th 2007 by Hirsbrunner

11. From the beginning of the year, let's see...counting secondhand ebay purchases:

Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Cooking Mama
Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime
Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja
Lost in Blue
Luminous Arc
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Pokemon Pearl
Warioware: Touched
Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship 2007

For a grand total of 12. Will probably buy Bleach: Blade of Fate, Lifesigns, and Professor Layton before the year is out.

12. Ask Mr. Owl.

13. I'm not sure where one year ended at the next began. I got my first DS, a DS Lite, on launch day. I've bought 13 titles so far.

Still Owned:
1 Yoshi's Island DS
2 Puzzle Quest
3 Tetris DS
4 Planet Puzzle League
5 DS Browser
6 Final Fantasy III
7 Drawn to Life

Traded In:
8 New Super Mario Bros.*
9 Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time*
10 Advance Wars DS**
11 Children of Mana***
12 Deep Labrynth***
13 Etrian Odyssey***

*traded in after completed game
**traded in because I was terrible at the game
***traded in because the game had joyless repetative combat

14. I don't know how many I've bought just this calendar year... but I've bought about 10 games since buying the system a year ago. I'm late adopter on games, since I don't buy titles I am not completely sure I'll love.

I preordered Zelda.

Posted at 2:40PM on Sep 18th 2007 by chispito

15. me and my girlfriend bought 10 games the last year..sadly i would have to say that the r4 would be the last. ;x

Posted at 5:00PM on Sep 18th 2007 by Matthew Hilario

16. I got four games, all within the first three months of the year:
Elite Beat Agents
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Hotel Dusk: Room 212
Lunar Knights

Which isn't really a lot of games. By comparison, I got more Gamecube games this year. Yeah, ouch.

I only plan on getting two more titles this year: Sonic Rush Adventure and Phantom Hourglass. Hopefully next year will be a lot better, but only ASH and DQ9 interest me.

Posted at 6:48PM on Sep 18th 2007 by Alexisonfire

17. I got 11 DS games this year, last one being Brain Age 2. I definitely will get Phantom Hourglass and Phoenix Wright. And there are 2-3 more games that I'll probably get on a whim. So in total, I'll go with 5 more by the end of the year. The DS is great :)

18. I've bought 4 games so far. You can read about it on my 1up page, middlemoor.1up.com

I plan on getting a few more before New Years, definately Ninja Gaiden and Zelda.

19. For a while I was borrowing my brother's DS he wasn't playing. He had Mario Kart and Brain Age 1 (He had other games, but I only played MK and BA1).
I purchased:
Pokemon: Diamond
Brain Age 2 Bundle pack (A DS of my very own!)
Rune Factory
Phoenix Wright 2.

Titles I will be purchasing soon:
Phoenix Wright 3

Titles On my "Wish I was Rich" List:
Phoenix Wright 1 (still hunting for it.)
Hotel Dusk
Nintendogs
Cooking Mama
Jam Sessions
Animal Crossing
Harvest Moon DS (Not sure if I should get this, since I own all previous hand-held titles, and I hear it's pretty much the same. Plus, I have Rune Factory)

20. Let's see... IIRC, this year, I've bought:
- Gyakuten Saiban II
- Hotel Dusk: Room 215
- Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales
- Planet Puzzle League

I also bought Ouendan for my fiance, but haven't yet played it myself.

On my "to get before the year's out" list are:
- Phoenix Wright 3
- Front Mission
- Rune Factory
