Today's Penny Arcade comic covers a subject that is near and dear to us: the poor Nintendo employee who was fired for inappropriate statements made on her blog. Even though her blog was really mean to her coworkers, we feel a certain solidarity as Nintendo bloggers. Whether or not she deserved dismissal for statements made while off-duty is a little bit more of a complex issue than we want to get into right now (though we lean heavily toward "no"), but we have no problem pointing you at a funny comic so you can laugh.Luckily for us, whenever we're mean on our blog, it's towards the Imagine games and not people. If Imagine Babyz were our boss, well, we'd probably be in jail by now.

Are you kidding? Let's say it was 5:05 and you stood outside your office building and shouted bad and mean things about your boss and your co-workers. You'd be stunned to be canned the next day because you were "off duty?" JC, Have you ever had an actual job? While you may be off duty in the sense that you don't have to work, you're expected to show respect to your co-workers 24x7.
The fact that she wrote under a pen name and never mentioned Nintendo is a red herring. She did it and employees of Nintendo knew it was her.

No kidding.
Have you actually read what she said? The company has an explicit Code of Conduct. What she did goes so far beyond stupidity, the fact that she got canned should come as no surprise to any reasonable sentient being.

I second comment 1 and 2.
Here in Germany we call it breach or betrayal of confidence.
It's something you just can't do.
