You'll have to excuse us if we seem a little spacey or preoccupied, but today is the day of lurve. Of course, that doesn't mean you have to cast your DS aside.
In fact, we're curious: does the DS figure at all in your Valentine's Day schedule? Hey, we already know the little guy can inspire closeness! Perhaps you intend to face off against your partner in a romantic round of Tetris or Advance Wars, or team up to tackle Professor Layton's more devilish puzzles together, pausing only to gaze into one another's eyes.
Maybe you've decided against giving traditional presents that eventually die or are consumed, and intend to give the object of your affections a DS-related gift (or card)? Maybe you're giving them an actual DS. Is anybody giving their loved one a whole DS? That's crazy. Even if it would totally win our heart.

I'm giving my wife Professor Layton and the Curios Village. It's our tradition that she gets a new game very Valentine's Day since I gave her Lunar on the GBA for our first Valentine's Day together. I usually try to find games with a romance/love story angle, but had no luck this year. After being so charmed with the Prof., I decided that this was the game to get.

My Phat recently died in a tragic case-switching accident (I am not tech savvy), and my lady friend is getting me this custom Lite. It won't be here for a week or so, though.
In the interim, ironically enough, I think we're going to try out Professor Layton today. She's a (non-SNES) gaming newbie, and I'm trying to get her interested in a few games that aren't platformers. Pokémon Diamond, Trauma Center, Cooking Mama, and Nintendogs are the bait I'm gonna try to use.

I gave my wife a DS for Valentines day. Unfortunately I got it so I could get her Scrabble, but the game isn't available anymore, so I had to give up my copy! The sacrifices we make for love...
Fortunately I've discovered Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton, and they are comforting me in this time of loss.

Aw, all of these comments are really sweet.
I'm going to use my DS to comfort myself over the fact that I'm nice enough have lots and lots of female friends but too awkward to (successfully) ask any of them out.
At least I'm not playing Doki Doki Majou Shinpan...

As much as I'd have loved to get my lady a DS for Valentine's Day, she already got her own! And isn't playing much of it at the moment, since her wrist is in a cast, so I figure a game now might be kind of gauche... I'll probably get one for her when the cast comes off, regardless.
I did, however, print one of these off on some nice paper: http://www.4colorrebellion.com/media/pics/08/02/4i.jpg

Surprisingly, no DS games for me this year from my boys, but then again, I have pretty much all of the games I really want.
However, most Holidays are video game gifties.
But, one of my hubbies did give me 2 packs of World of WarCraft TCG booster packs!
And the've both been showering me in online gifts on WoW.
OH! And my husband solved one of the puzzles on Prof. Layton I was stuck on. That counts, right?
