The DS Life: DS Boy Around The World

Remember the "Game Boy Around The World" kid? He enjoyed some fame a while back after his father posted photos of the tyke posing with his Game Boy Advance SP in front of famous monuments and areas around the world, like Stonehenge, Big Ben, and Times Square.

It's been almost two years, though, since his dad first put up those pictures, and we thought it would be interesting to see what the lad has been up to since. Is he still traveling the world? Has he given up on the GBA? What does he look like now?

The answers to those questions, in that order -- yes, no, and find out past the break!

For comparison, here's a photo of the globetrotting gamer from 2006:

Nearly two years later at the SciWorks museum in Winston Salem, North Carolina:

He has grown up quite a bit! As you can tell, he has abandoned the old GBA for its successor, the Nintendo DS. Does that mean we can no longer call him the "Game Boy Around The World" kid?

Also, you'll notice that the boy has graduated from posing in front of monuments, and is now more interested in using his handheld to torment children encased in copper. It's a bit cruel, isn't it? As if it weren't bad enough that the frozen boy will never feel the caring touch of his long-dead mother again, now he's being teased with portable games he'll never be able to play.

The DS Life is a weekly feature in which we scour the known world for narrative images of Nintendo's handheld and handheld gamers. If you have a photo and a story to match it with, send both to thedslife at dsfanboy dot com.
