Upon getting it onto our DS and booting the demo up, we prepared for a wonderful time with our imported paddle controller, as it's been sitting on our work space's desk for a couple weeks now while we anticipated the release of Arkanoid DS and Space Invaders Extreme. But, after booting up the demo, we found the title only supports two control schemes: stylus and d-pad. Talk about d'oh!
What will this mean for the final build of the game? Will it also not include support for the paddle controller? It looks like that will be the case, but what about Space Invaders Extreme? Should we expect the same fate for that title?

well i've got the Japanese version of Arkanoid. The menu also shows only 2 control schemes: stylus and d pad. Have you tried it?

Maybe it's only that way in the downloaded demo? There's still hope for your paddle thingy.

Let's hope it's an unlisted feature in the final release. Such a gorgeous game deserves a gorgeous control scheme.

Also, if I remember correctly, Rumble-enabled DS Demos when downloaded did not have a Rumble feature. I'm sure it's just the fact that it's a demo; developers probably didn't want to implement it for a reason :P

It might just be for the demo though.

This is where having an R4 can be useful. If you would have tried out the ROM beforehand, you could have saved yourself cash on the paddle.
But, is the paddle fun to play? I find the game way too easy when using stylus/button controls.

Having already imported my paddle, if the final version has no paddle support, I have only one word to say:
Arrrrrrr.

As I posted in the other, similar, thread:
From Wired's website: "A Square Enix spokesperson told Wired.com this morning that the U.S. versions of the games will retain support for imported Paddle Controllers."

No need to freak out yet!
