Phoenix Wright discontinued?

Hold It!There's a nasty rumor going around that Capcom's hilarious text-based courtroom adventure, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, has been discontinued. This comes as a bit of a surprise, as the game was well received by critics and has enjoyed excellent word of mouth. It's still just a rumor, but our own in-depth investigation (we browsed the internet a bit) has turned up some grim evidence.

Exhibit A: The game is no longer available at  EBgames.com.
Exhibit B: At Gamestop, it's "back ordered".
Exhibit C: Phoenix Wright is mysteriously absent from the DS page at Capcom's online store.
Exhibit D:
The one-legged, one-eyed homeless man heard from a friend's sister-in-law's psychic aunt that this was going to happen. He gladly exchanged this information with us in return for a half-eaten Oreo.

Do you OBJECT! to these claims of a Phoenix Wright scarcity? If so, give us some details on where you've seen hundreds of copies lining the shelves. If not, let us know if you've had trouble finding the game in your area.

1. I bought it when it came out and had a hard enough time then. Now your best off going to Game Crazy or Ebgames for it used.

PS This game rocks and has an awesome story line

2. I got this for Christmas. Friend ordered it for me off Amazon (Target). I just checked and it's no longer available there either!

This game is amazing. It's so much fun. I just hope the sequels make it to the states. Please please please.

3. My brother just bought this game from EB Games a couple days ago. It is not discontinued. The rumour is false.

5. it would be best to go to your local independent game store, hope they have it in stock

6. Yes. As we all well know, if there's one thing game companies hate, it's making MONEY. The game is selling well, and steadily building. More likely than not, what you've seen is a shortage of copies available. Maybe Capcom didn't put enough out, and sold far over their early projections.

Remember, kids, just because you can't get a 360 doesn't mean it's discontinued. You'll probably see more copies start to pop up in a month or so.

7. There were 3 copies at my local EB at the beginning of the weekend. Went back there last night and bought the last one when I found it it was... the last one.

Don't worry, Capcom will produce 45 more sequels.

8. Im looking for a nice long ds adventure. Does this game have a long play time?

Posted at 3:18PM on Jan 3rd 2006 by h.m.

9. Meh, EB and Gamestop sites aren't the best. They still have Starcraft: Ghost for the gamecube set for release, and also have Advance Wars: Under Fire set for release on the 26th of this month. Capcom though, I'm not sure of.

Make no mistake though, the game sold way better than expected, and if I heard right, enough to garner the sequel coming onto the DS. So if anything, they ran out of copies.

11. I ordered it from Fry's electronics a week and a half ago. Still waiting because it's back ordered.I'm kicking myself because had a chance to preorder it from Capcom's online store and I would of got a free pointy finger stylus. Darn!

12. Damn it
I was going to get this for my wife. We both really enjoy Trauma Center and this looked like a similar Legal offering.
Did people have problems with it? Are there major bugs they have to fix maybe?
I wonder what other sort of Profession based games are going to come out.
They already have the chef one on it's way. Now we just need one for Journalism, Teaching, Investment Banking, Bartending, Hairdressing, and Advertising Crative.
I'll see if I can find copies of this at one of the little shops in ChinaTown or Flushing.
