Oh, we don't mean the pain of the action variety. This is more the pain of "where the hell is Bleach DS?!" We haven't even seen the first one and they're already on a sequel. What gives? Folks outside Japan can certainly appreciate a good fighting game. Oh well, looks like those of us who can't live without a little violence might have to turn to importing. This isn't just any violence, either. We're talking four-on-four multiplayer WiFi violence.Did any of you guys import the original? This sequel is said to improve on the gameplay, and that's a tall order. It did take them a while to get around to showing off anything from the sequel, so maybe some extensive fine-tuning did go on. If only we had more than a few screens to show off, but these will have to do for now. Check 'em out after the jump.

I don't know much about the Bleach license, but I do know that a 4-player Treasure fighting game sounds AMAZING.

The first one is pretty darn fun. Just played it today, in fact. Hopefully this will have a similar battle system and live up to the first.

Yeah, I imported this last year, and it's a blast -- though WiFi is pretty slow with those card-using Japanese chumps, haha. Can't wait till I play this!

Guh, that was confusing. I meant to say I imported the first one, not this one x_x;

Did Treasure develop this one too? They're not big on sequels, although they are big on doing licensed games to pay the bills.

I've really enjoyed playing the first Bleach DS instalment. It hit just the right balance between memorising combo's and fast paced action.
Although it initially seemed like one or two characters out perform the others, I soon discovered that the full range of fighters can perform well with the right handling. I really enjoyed getting to grips with each one and discovering how best to play them.
There was a great review of the first Bleach DS in edge last year. They gave it an 8, highlighting it's fast paced, single cart 4 player mash-ups as some of the best portable fighting fun since Street Fighter 2 Alpha on the GBA. Praise indeed!
Looking at your screenshots, I'm glad to see that the story mode on the new version appears to be less linear. Previously, you had no choice about who you would play next. They also seem to have expanded the card system to provide a choice of four, rather than two, cards.
Looks like I might be importing this one two. Does anyone know if Bleach Wii is coming our in Europe. Also I wonder if there are any link up functions between the DS and Wii, that would be sweet!

Videos of more than a few characters are on the official website. It can be found in the wiki article. It seems as if they nerfed the few overpowered techniques and increased the speed of everyone dramatically. Animations and graphics have also improved a great deal. The first one is my most frequently play DS game and that's saying something. I highly recommend getting the sequel as soon as possible.
