DS Daily: Headphones?

Trippy. The DS Lite's speakers are certainly nothing to be ashamed of. They deliver fairly crisp sound (Elite Beat Agents is a wonderful example) at a decent volume. Still, is this enough in public places? Or are you simply too embarrassed for some games' vibrational happiness to be transmitted to the people around you?

Certainly, headphones can offer a more immersive experience in a game. However, the inconvenience of having to carry around an extra device may outweigh the benefits for some. Do you use headphones, and if you do, are they a quality set? How often do you use them? Let's hear it, people.

And if a tree falls in the woods, it totally makes a sound. That question is ridiculous.

22. I've only used headphones once or twice with my DS - the few times I play it in public, i tend to keep the volume low or off...

I tried playing EBA with them on, but it wasnt worth the effort in the end.

23. If I'm out in public I use the ear buds that came with my Sandisk mp3 player from Woot.com. They last a lot longer than the player itself.

24. Sometimes if I'm listening to my iPod, and I instead wanna hear my game, I'll just change the plug. It depends on the game. For example, I don't really need sound for Jump UltimateStars, but it's a must to play like Phoenix Wright.

I do have these little retractable Elite Beat Agent headphones from the Nintendo Fusion Tour...
