It's been a week since we asked you fine folk how you feel about homebrew on the DS and you responded in full force. We understand some of you may not enjoy polls or find the prospect of discussing homebrew unappealing, so we tucked the poll results past the post break. Head on through to check out the vote tallies.

Turns out, homebrew is a mixed bag for our readers, offering some delicious snacks and others food stuffs that they may be allergic to or find to taste disgusting. Not only that, but the comments also give us a good idea what your favorite homebrew apps on the DS are. All in all, a very successful poll and we thank you for your participation.

I have the r4 kit but have had a hard time finding a site that has lots of roms to download. Does any one know of any good ones? Also I was wondering if it is possible to load game roms that I run on my computer on the DS, I have a bunch of SNK/neo geo roms that would be awesome to play on my DS.

I haven't run any homebrew on any of mine DSs yet, but my PSPs are both modded and loaded to the hilt. I did just place a small order for some of the Simply DS units, so I guess I'll be on my way...

I really want to get into homebrewing my own simple games. I'm sure its way more complicated than I can imagine though. Does anyone know of any resources for getting started into DS homebrew? And I am 100% ignorant to what I need to get/do. I would be happy just getting my DS to say Hello World.

@3 Barry:
You want http://devkitpro.org/ . If you don't know already, it's also a very good idea to learn some C++ first (O'Reily makes some good C++ books). As far as hardware, I would reccomend either the ezflashV (which I own), or the R4 (very popular). Both are about the same compatibility-wise, thanks to DLDI.
@4 Sloppywillis:
You do know it's in very bad form to post links to commercial ROMs, right? They're not exactly legal.

Yanno... there always has to be some idiot that will spoil it for the rest of us. For those 'special' commenters above:
HOMEBREW IS NOT THE SAME AS ILLEGAL ROMZ!!
When you download roms or distribute links on them you are screwing it up for the rest of us. When you associate Homebrew with roms, you make it even worse.
Course you could just post: 'LOL I DONT CARE I DO WAT I WANTLOL' like every other l33t net kiddie out there, or you could activate that jellylike mass on top of your shoulders and think about it.
Your call.

The guy asked where he could find some Roms. I was just trying to help him out, not dirty the name of homebrew. I guess it was not the best idea to post those links on this forum. I honestly didn't know I would incur such wrath from the homebrewing community. I'm sure that Myself and blaspemizer are the only two people on the earth that use flash carts for something other than homebrew, and I apologize in full for sullying the name of any and all homebrewers I may have brought down into the mire with me.
