THQ's
Warhammer 40K: Squad Command may have earned a Metascore of just 57, but today it's also earned a $17.99 on the crucial "How much does this game cost on Amazon" scale. That's, well,
less than the $29.99 you would normally have to spend to try the turn-based strategy title. It's just 44 cents per
K of
Warhammer!
It's almost worth $17.99 just to have a constant reminder of how great the custom
Warhammer 40K DS Lite was. But of course
just printing a picture of it would be significantly cheaper. Alternately, it could be worth picking up if you want to play a strategy game or something.

The problem with this one was that popular buzz said if you liked it then you REALLY liked it, if you hated it then it was total trash. No middle ground and it didn't matter if you were a Warhammer fan or not, it depended on how comfortable you were with the controls and presentation. For as many low scores as I saw for this one I also keep hearing people say "I loved it! Want more!".
Since I like Front Mission and AW: Days of Ruin I think I'll consider this one.

It's pretty good but basic. There are no animated cutscenes as in the PSP version nor is there any music. Nor is there any real story or prolog. It all feels a little rushed. The game engine IS impressive, but it struggles a bit on the DS. Worth it if you can find a cheap copy ($10) but if not I'd spend your money on something meatier like Panzer Tactics. Typical PSP-DS port; guess which one got the worse deal...
