Bathroom gaming and portable gaming have always gone hand in hand -- after they've been thoroughly washed, of course -- so it's fitting that the private pastime go public with a "best of" list. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney tops the lavatory list, though you might have to hold it for a while if you're planning to see an entire court case through to its end. Elite Beat Agents, everyone's favorite rhythm game, actually gets negative marks for its soundtrack: "Being forced to listen to Avril Lavigne and Hoobastank during your time of peril does far more harm than good."
We were upset to see Puzzle Quest missing from the tally, but not every bathroom gamer shares our love of puzzle/RPG hybrids, shocking as that may seem. Which games do you take along with you to the loo? It is imperative that you tell us.
All this week, the DS Fanboy staff is letting you in on a few of their favorite titles. Each day, a different member of the staff will present their personal top five DS games along with a snapshot of their gaming paraphernalia and habits, in an effort to provide our readers with a little more information on the tastes and personalities of our writers.
As the lead blogger of PSP Fanboy, one might be questioning why I'm here. It's true: I love my PSP and take it everywhere (except the shower). But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy Nintendo's handheld. I've grown up with Nintendo handhelds, owning every iteration of the Game Boy ever. My stash of Nintendo valuables would make any Nintendork jealous. Now that I'm older and spending less time arguing in message boards, I've learned that true gaming bliss comes from having access to all the games I can get. Hopefully, you feel the same way too.
So please, take my "top five" list as an olive branch to end the bickering between the two Fanboy sites.
As we were discussing the best traditional games on the DS, some other issues were raised, and we thought they might merit further discussion. When it comes to discussing the effects of the DS on the gaming industry, the Touch Generations brand is a good place to start. Nintendo's set of titles aimed at gamers of any age includes an interesting mix of the traditional -- say, Tetris -- to the innovative titles that make great use of everything DS, like Elite Beat Agents and Brain Age. These games make it easy to go from something straightforward, like Brain Age (hey, writing -- we can do that!) to different, more complicated games. Many of you have even seen it happen; the DS is all about training up new gamers. What we want to know is -- do you think these traditional games, as they're played on the DS, are among the best links for helping people make that step, or the worst? After all, moving on from the pick-up-and-play simplicity of Nintendogs may not be conducive to attempting a slog through Final Fantasy III.

We already know that you guys use your DS at home more than anywhere else, despite its portability. Now we want to know how often you pull it out. Is the DS secondary for you to another system, or does it dominate most of your free gaming time? Do you prefer games you can play in short bursts, or the extended sessions of a game like Final Fantasy III? And how do you approach games? Are you satisfied with getting through a game any old way, or do you like to dedicate yourself to perfecting every challenge and every level of difficulty in games like Trauma Center and Advance Wars, no matter how long it takes?
In one of the best ideas we've seen in a while, Delta Airlines is partnering with Nintendo to bring DS download stations to the airport. What better time to test out a new title than a four hour flight? The new program is currently in place at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, though we expect it will expand if successful. If your holiday flights include a stopover in Atlanta, try to patronize one of the stations at a Delta terminal -- this is one test program we want to support!

It's here at last -- Elite Beat Agents! We're told some other games might be coming out as well (who knew?), but we're too busy tap-tapping at the keyboard and practicing rhythm to think about much else. Which is probably too bad, because it's a good week for game releases. If this deluge of awesome sauce continues, we're not going to have any money left to throw a New Years' Eve party this year ... but we'll have a sweet collection of DS games, right? It's all about priorities ....
We knew those Elite Beat Agents were popular, but the commercial hitting #1 in games on YouTube is quite a feat! We can't say we're too surprised, not after seeing all sorts of people clustered around the game at the Fusion Tour, but it's definitely an exciting moment for DS fans nonetheless. The official English Elite Beat Agents site is up and ready to rock your socks. There's a montage of game footage tucked away behind the "action!" button that's certain to get toes a-tappin' and heads a-bobbin, so unless you're around people who understand your fascination with guys in dark suits who gyrate to pop music ... well, you can see where we're going with that one.
In all the buzz about the Wii, no one's said much about the DS at this year's Nintendo Fusion Tour, which is a shame, since some really great games are playable on the tour, like Elite Beat Agents and Final Fantasy III. Would we be correct in saying that everyone and their dog is as excited for Elite Beat Agents as we are? Something about those slick male cheerleaders makes us giggle. So, you can imagine how excited we were to see the track list for the game. Sure we had to muffle laughter over artists like Cher and Ashlee Simpson. The game did get a few more cool points for featuring David Bowie and Queen. Without further ado, we present to you the Elite Beat Agents track list:
