Confirmed: June 23rd = Lite European launch [Update]

I guess we weren't just being cruel after all when we reported on the rumor. Thankfully, Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that you fine folk across the pond will be getting your hands on a Lite less than two weeks after us over here in the United States. Retailing for £99.99/149.99 EUR, the redesigned DS is going to cost those of you over there quite a bit more money to acquire (about $187 US for the Britons and $191 US for the rest of Europe). What will you be doing with your DS Phat upon upgrading to a Lite?

[Update: Added pricing. Please forgive me, I posted this very early in the morning]

3. Nicely done Nintendo, not leaving Europe in the dark at all this time! :D

I already imported, and now my once beloved DS Phat just.... sits there. :(

4. The DS lite will be launching in Europe on the 23rd of June for £99.99/149.99 EUR.
Europeans will pay the equivalent of $191 for the DS lite whilst Britons will pay $187.

From Joystiq.

5. Using price comparisons is pretty worthless. To someone in Europe, being paid in Euros or Pounds, then 150EUR is like 150$. Plus, it includes the local taxes whichh, vary by country but are about 18%.

6. DS Phat was sold on eBay to a delighted buyer.

7. I wouldn't mind getting a black one. Are they really not going to be available in the US right away?

Can't wait to get mine.

8. "the redesigned DS is going to cost those of you over there quite a bit more money to acquire (about $187 US for the Britons and $191 US for the rest of Europe)."

It's apparantly worth it for a BLACK DS lite.
Now i'm gonna have to import from Europe (wow, never thought i'd say that)

9. I was wondering, why the DS lite is not available to pre-order, does it have to do with the fact they expect to have enough supply, or they just don't do that for the release of upgraded gaming devices? Did they let people pre-order the slim PS2 when it came out?

10. SCORE! I expected it to be far more expensive than this, and the addition of black is just an added bonus. Count me in, just as soon as I can get a job >_<

11. I guess Nintendo is doing a good job of appealing to everyone, since I had to promise my DS Phat to my parents. They want one for Brain Age, Trauma Center, and Phoenix Wright.

12. Elflaco: What? The day after the Lite's price was officially announced, I went to GameStop and their system was updated with a Lite preorder. I put down 20 bucks on one. That was in the States, though; maybe you can't preorder one in Europe?

13. Sorry, didn't really check all the sites, but the store I am buying it from is Best Buy, because I have a $200 gift certificate, and am waiting on the DS lite to use it, and I'll put in extra for games and accessories once I do buy it. Best Buy online only list the old DS. I emailed them and they said it is best to check with the store in person.
