There are some games that are almost perfect. They're so close! They've got an excellent learning curve, the graphics are amazing, the story is fantastic ... but there's one flaw that keeps it from being all it could be. Surely you've played a few of these on the DS. Maybe it's an interminable tutorial sequence that makes you want to bang your head against the wall, or a lot of wasted extra screens you have to wait through over and over (a particular peeve of this blogger's, but it didn't stop Professor Layton and the Curious Village from being awesome), or maybe the touchscreen just doesn't always work quite right, particularly at critical moments (hi2u, Puzzle Quest), and sometimes, they're just really, really hard.
Let's face it -- the DS isn't loved for its aural qualities. Still, there are some games that really outdo themselves in terms of music. A few that immediately come to us as examples are the Ace Attorney (Gyakuten Saiban) games and Professor Layton. Yet, everyone has different musical tastes, so we wanted to see if you thought any DS games had soundtracks worth noting. If so, list them here!

With yesterday being April Fools' Day, the internet was set ablaze with crazy rumors and fake news. DS Fanboy was even on hand with its own little something something to mark the occasion. Aside from telling you our most darkest fears, we broke news involving a certain Nintendo president and his theft (or, as he puts it, "discovery") of a rather large bag filled with popping corn.
While spending a little time with Professor Layton and the Curious Village recently, I discovered something -- when not actively using my stylus, it seems I have a habit of putting it in my mouth. I don't really chew on it, but rather, just hold it there with my lips. The stops and starts in Layton meant that I was often not doing much with it, but just studying the screen, which gave me the opportunity to realize where I was putting my poor stylus. Here's hoping I'm not alone in this weird habit ... am I?
It's always disappointing when you want to play a game, but can't find it anywhere (except maybe eBay for an absurd price). Have there been any DS games that you've had trouble locating? If so, what games are you disappointed that you've missed out on for such reasons? And, have you ever gone to great lengths in order to acquire one of the rarer DS games?
Tell us about your games library -- well, the DS portion.
Do you think there's no place for realistic games on the DS? It seems that some people do; when we spoke with Rob Hawkey, Game Director at Deep Fried Entertainment, in regard to MLB 2K8 Fantasy All-Stars, he seemed to think that realism is a recipe for failure when it comes to the handheld's audience. But, really, when has it been tried? For every Brothers in Arms or FIFA Soccer 08, we've got ten games like Elite Beat Agents, Phoenix Wright, and every Mario-themed game ever. This isn't to say we prefer one style over another -- it just means we have more of the latter to choose from, so we choose 'em.
Looking back at the DS games we've played so far this year, we're happy to say that we have yet to play a bad game. Sure, we don't get to play as much as you probably do, but to be almost 4 months in and not have played a single bad game is like a record. Hey, the DS does get better titles than any other console on average, however.
